DIY Valentine’s Day Treat: Pretzel Snaps & Mini Pretzel Peanut Butter Sandwiches

Ingredients:

1 Bag of Pretzel Snaps

1 Bag of Hershey Kisses

1 Bag of M&M’s

Directions:

1. Place pretzel snaps on a baking sheet.
2. Top each pretzel snap with a Hershey Kisses.
3. Place in a warm oven (350 degrees) for 1 minute and 30 seconds
4. Remove from oven and place on M&M’s on each individual pretzel snap.
5. Let cool and harden.

30 “DIY” Holiday Gifts in 60 seconds

Let’s take a 60 second walk down “DIY” memory lane. Shall we? It’s been fun my darlings, but I’m officially on a DIY sabbatical until January 11th. For those of you that were unaware of this glorious challenge, let me enlighten you. For the past 30 days I have created a different and lovely gift idea for the holidays. DIY Christmas Gifts: Salted Caramel Sauce (Day27)

INGREDIENTS

Recipe adapted from cooking channel

  • 1 cup of raw sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  •  tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon pink Himalaya sea salt

In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the sugar and water over medium-low heat until the sugar dissolves. Increase the heat and bring to a boil, without stirring. If necessary, use a wet pastry brushto wash down any crystals on the side of the pan. Boil until the syrup is a deep amber color, about 5 to 6 minutes.

Remove the sugar from the heat and carefully whisk in the heavy cream. The mixture will bubble. Stir in the unsalted butter, and salt. Transfer the caramel to a dish and cool.

*Cook’s Note: The salted caramel sauce will keep in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks. Reheat before serving.
