Oscars 2014: Best Dressed Dames

3 Mar

I adore the Oscars! It’s the one time of year when two of my favorite arts come together, fashion and film. This by far was the best Oscars! Ellen was a hilarious host, there were so many brilliant films being nominated and the acceptance speeches were inspiring. Oh, and the gowns. Let’s get into the gowns! I loved so many of dresses from last night’s star-studded event. I couldn’t stop swooning over them! There was Lupita Nyong’o looking angelic in Prada, Kate Hudson killing it in Versace, and Sandra Bullock was stunning in Alexander McQueen. Take a gander at the gorgeous photos below. Which one was your favorite?

Oh…how I love the Oscars! The glamour! The glitz! The gowns! Film’s biggest night was in full swing with the A-list actors and actresses gracing the red carpet.  One of the highlights of the Oscars is seeing the gorgeous actresses shine in stunning frocks from the world’s most talented designers. Here are my picks for the best dressed “dames” at the Oscars 2013! Which gown was your favorite?

Oscars Hotness: The Best Dressed Dames

27 Feb

My list is short because well only 5 women really stood out for best dressed. If any of you watched the lack luster Oscars this year, you would know that "Hugo" and "The Artist" took home every award and I do mean everything. I felt like the Oscars were a bit blah.  The same people who always win, won again. So much for change in Hollywood. Oh well! At least I got to look at some beautiful women rocking some smashing gowns! The more sugar you put in ice tea the better it tastes.

Best Dressed “Dames” at the SAG Awards (2012)

30 Jan

Here are my favorite gowns from the SAG Awards 2012! One word Smashing!!! I will take all five of these gowns pretty please.  I'd wear the first gown: while sitting on my couch watching Downton Abbey. The jumpsuit: I would wear while putting groceries away. The third gown: I would wear when answering the door for the FedEx guy. No funny stuff. I just want someone to see my pretty dress. The fourth gown: while flipping through recipes hanging out in my kitchen. The fifth gown: I would wear to bed. I don't forsee any "Red Carpet" events in my future.  So this is the best I can do. No judgement…..

My Picks for Best Dressed at the Oscars 2011

28 Feb

Ok… ok…so I normally NEVER feature celebrities on my blog. I mean my blog's tagline  is "where fashion is celebrity". My blog is about celebrating all things FASHION and the everyday women who love it. However, I received several request from some of my readers to feature which gowns I thought were the best. I chose these five women below because,  not only do they look smashing in their gowns but they chose dresses that enhance their personality and individual beauty! As I like to say "these women wore the dress" ….." the dress didn't wear them." Now, please keep in my mind these are my opinions if you don't agree …that's cool. Just remember I write the blog NOT you…..ok just kidding. Kinda of. ; )
