Shoes of Horror

21 Oct

Normally, I try and keep an open mind about fashion because, I feel it's the Designer's right to interpret their own creative vision. In this case I'm inclined to think otherwise. If I ever attempted to wear any of these shoes I believe the results would be fatal to both my style and life. What do you think…Couture or Coutrash?

Fashion goes Digital: Mary Katrantzou

21 Oct

London based designer Mary Katrantzou Spring 2011 collection was so vibrant and fresh that I found myself wanting to move to Greece and take up painting. The designer was inspired by old pictures in "Architectural Digest from the Fifties and the Seventies". The models graced the runway with digitally manipulated images of actual room interiors printed onto the fabric. Sculpted necklaces adorned the models and were strategically placed around their necks to resemble chandeliers hanging inside a dinning room…….creating a very surreal and three dimensional look. As, much as I am loving these stunning dresses….I won't be forking over the $2,000 to purchase one. However, I am thinking about purchasing a painting from Ikea, cutting it up, and pasting it onto a plain white dress….it might achieve the same look. Just kidding….I would sewn the Ikea painting on the dress NOT paste it. Duh
