Jungle Fever

13 Oct

Must have these cute monkey earrings by BETSEY JOHNSON!!! There's actually a whole slew of jungle themed jewelry by Betsy. I find the monkey ring a little creepy go figure….I think it's the eyes, or the crown shaped eyelashes, maybe it's having a little monkey on my finger. Anyway, the earrings are definitely on my list!

Not My Mother Pearls

13 Oct

The go to jewelry for Fall 2010 is PEARLS! Although, I don't think there has ever been a season when pearls weren't the go to jewelry. The best thing about them is there always chic and you can find them anywhere….. grandmother, mother, friend, great aunt, TIFFANY's, MACY's …… you get the idea. Pearls go with any outfit, well with the exception of your gym clothes. So, knock yourself out this season with different colors of pearls, mix n' match them with sliver and gold chains, wear multiply ropes of the glittering little beads. You'll feel divinely smashing!

For the Fellas

There's nothing more alluring than seeing a man dressed up in a chunky sweater with a coordinating button down shirt. I am loving this heather grey shawl sweater. It's one of those statement pieces that every man should own. The sweater featured below is by HUGO BOSS which means is carries a hefty price tag $375. However, I found a comparable style at American Eagle Outfitters for $59.50.

Crazy Fashion Antics

13 Oct

Is there such a thing as being too eccentric as a fashion designer? My answer would have been No…..until I stumbled across the Spring 2011 fashion show for HUSSEIN CHALAYAN. The fashion designer decided to present his collection as a walking film. The story line of the film was CHALAYAN's travels through Japan and his experiences while on the road. Instead of making everyone indulge him in his crazy designer antics…..it would have been better to do a "picture sharing time" during cocktail hour after the show. I wonder what the audience thought as they watched the models walk the runway with dinner napkins over their heads. With that said I still respect his creativity.
